An interesting tid-bit of the court’s decision is in Section 3 (k), which deserves quoting in this website for legal reasons if for no other —
(k) Plaintiff OTO is entitled to the exclusive use of the trademarks and names claimed by defendants, except that defendant SOTO has the continued right to use the name “Society Ordo Templi Orientis” and the initials “SOTO”.
Given that the judge has already judged that SOTO does not have enough Members to exist, and if it did, it would have no rights in the U.S.A. whatsoever — except to declare that we shall continue to use the name “SOCIETY ORDO TEMPLI ORIENTIS”, and the acronym “SOTO”, to distinguish ourselves from COTO if for no other reason. SOTO is the Society Ordo Templi Orientis as Marcelo Ramos Motta reconstructed it when bootleggers such as Francis King and Stephen Skinner published most of the O.T.O rituals — documents that once made public rendered the ordeals of the various existing O.T.O. Degrees useless. I would say in the Outer, but I have seen no evidence that there are any O.T.O. members worthy of the IVº.

It seems to me that unless this judgement were declared, then the decisions could not refer to FRATER PARZIVAL XIº’s O.T.O. Directors, O.T.O. Lodge-Masters, O.T.O. Members, and Candidates and deny us any rights in the U.S.A..
I have heard that all of an author’s literary remains go into the public domain 75 years after his or her death. Crowley died in December 1947 e.v. so all of his writings should go into the public domain in December 2022 e.v..
I have also been told that the British government has declared that the British crown (Elizabeth Saxe-Coburg-Gotha aka Elizabeth Windsor) owns the Crowley copyrights.
The important thing to take away from this post is that the California District Court approve of us using the Title Society Ordo Templi Orientis, so we shall!
We are going to continue to openly use the name Society Ordo Templi Orientis and the acronym SOTO throughout this website in tribute what Frater Parzivalº XI O.T.O. said after the appeal: “Fuck you, judge!”
